(2) The die has low life, especially for punching hard steel or thick plate, and the die life is lower. This hinders the promotion of the process.

(3) There are still some problems to be further explored in the process, such as pre-processing and preparation of raw materials, including leveling, blanking, and spheroidizing annealing, cleaning, lubrication, and provision of strips, sheets, and blocks. It is difficult for the general factory to be constrained by equipment conditions and the process is not mature.

(4) The determination of the stamping process and the design and manufacture of the die structure, including the material selection and heat treatment of the die working parts, remains to be explored.

(5) The research on the theory of thick plate stamping process has not yet been mentioned on the agenda. Such as: to improve the quality of thick plate blanking, to reduce the effective measures of thick plate punching and punching pressure, to reduce thick plate stamping noise and to promote thick plate hot and clean punching technology, etc., etc. have to be specifically studied to guide the factory practice.

It should be pointed out that thick plate stamping is a modern stamping technology with great potential, excellent efficiency, and broad prospects. Its development and popularization depend on the development and advancement of materials technology, mold technology, and stamping equipment production technology as well as related basic process technologies. Cold-punched thick steel plate due to the cold shear strength of the material: the value is large when the material thickness t reaches 4-20mm, the P~ value increases proportionally with the increase of t value during punching. The convex and concave molds made of conventional cold stamping die materials are difficult to withstand excessive compressive stress during punching. Sometimes P, the value will exceed the tonnage of the field equipment and cold stamping is not possible. The use of hot-thick steel plates reduces the punching force. After the steel plate is heated, it is shear strength decreases significantly, and the Pmax value decreases greatly, which provides superior conditions for thick plate stamping. However, heating the steel plate requires a certain amount of heating equipment, and it is not suitable to use a mechanical press for hot charging. Because the hot punching must strictly control the heating temperature, the rust and scale of the hot plate surface should be cleaned before punching. The hot punching equipment should also be suitable for the unloading, cooling and hot waste removal and stacking of the hot stamping parts. Therefore, according to practical experience, it is recommended to use a friction press to make a thick steel plate hot flush.
